Just When You Think It’s Impossible, Remember, I’m Possible!

I have been beating myself up for the past year.

Not physically, but mentally.

I wanted so much for my business to be a success, yet life keeps getting into the way.

But now I’m at a turning point and I must MUST make this happen!

There is no Impossible. It’s I’m Possible and so is my business!

Just When You Think It’s Impossible, Remember I’m Possible!

There are times when I doubt my skills and my ability to meet my Client’s needs.

But isn’t that all part of being “human”?

We doubt ourselves to an extent, some more than others, even when other’s tell us “You can do it!”

I doubted my web design skills, yet, I’m kicking some Kardashian booty doing it!

I hesitated when I thought about adding Blogger and WordPress.com Migration to my services, yet, I’m killing it!

Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it. ~ Maya Angelou

Now I’m challenging myself and adding Image Creation and Social Media Marketing, as well as a few other helpful goodies to my services!

Yet, I know just this, I Can Do It!

Sometimes Life Throws You a Few Zingers

Just to get a reaction out of you. It doesn’t matter if it’s a good or bad thing, Life is going to spit it at ya and wait for you to react!

This time, Life threw Divorce at me.

Yes, it’s a major bummer especially for someone who doesn’t believe in Divorce, however, I know it’s for the best.

Things will be tough at first, as I stumble my way into bringing extra income to my home so I can keep it and put a roof over my furkids heads.

Yes, it’s a shame that things worked out this way but no sense in anyone being unhappy with their life.

Life is what we make it and if the current one isn’t working for ya, we need to create a new one.

But these life changes are what brought me to publish a new post on my blog and to let you know about my new services I’m adding.

  • Image Creation (for blogs) – I’ve already been doing this for a select few bloggers.
  • Social Media Marketing – Need help promoting your content? Let me Tweet it and Facebook it for ya!
  • Various other Blog Services – Just ask me!
  • Clerical Duties – Need someone to scan and answer your emails? How about other Clerical like duties? I’m your gal!

Ya See, I’m No Stranger to these Zingers

As a small child of 11 years old, I lost my Mother. She passed away one night, just like that. I had to grow up fast!

PinIt Just When You Think Its Impossible Remember Im Possible

But my Father remarried within 6 months, adding two (2) step-sisters into the picture, one (1) step-brother, and kicking my real brother out of the home.

We even moved from a quiet life to the big city life. I was pulled out of public school where all my friends were and shoved into a private Catholic school where I knew no one.

At 18 years of age, I left home because I thought I found true love. Only to find that this would be the beginning of my many misjudgments of men.

At 21 years old, I filed bankruptcy because, at $7.50 an hour, I couldn’t afford my home, two car payments, and credit card bills that I didn’t make.

In my 30’s, I survived skin cancer(s) and will continue to battle them for the rest of my life.

And now, I will be divorced by the age of 50.

I’m not asking for a pity party. This is the hand that Life has dealt me and I will make the best of it.

Ya See, I’m a Survivor

And I know that it’s Possible to make a better life and I’m Possible!

  1. Hey Bren,

I’m late on commenting on the post, but I’m glad I made it.

I’m a firm believer that we all must keep focusing on ourselves to maintain our balance. In this way when the negative side of life hits us, we can still have a reason to keep going. The balance we focus on sets up a strong foundation.

You sound like you already know this because you’ve found a passion in blog design and promotion. A lot of people who go through the trials and tribulations of life don’t have this which is why they go through depression and other mental issues.

Thanks for sharing Bren! Keep your head up!

    1. Sherman!

Many apologies for my delayed response. I commented by cell phone and apparently, it never showed up. I’m so sorry. How rude of me!

I know you have a busy schedule and when life throws a nasty at us we can either curl up in the corner and suffer OR take it by the horns and pull forward. I may be set back for a week or two but no longer. I just can’t stay away from the positive things in life. I strive to have positive vibes in my daily life!

Things are still good and I’m glad I decided to absorb myself in my work rather than dwell on my current issues.

As always, it’s a pleasure having you take the time to comment on my posts. I really appreciate our friendship! Have a blessed evening, my friend!

  2. Hello Bren,

    Survivor for sure 🙂
Thanks Bren for sharing your instances among with us. Yeah life is a roller coaster ride. When we thinks that we are
now going to settle for now, it has some new evil plans for us, to test and show I’m possible. You have overcome so
many things in your life till now. Indeed divorce and death are the two things which make us suffer a lot.
Glad to hear that you are back on track and setting visions to achieve your goals.
Thanks for the share and Keeping us motivated.
    Keep Writing.

    1. Hi Shantanu,

My apologies for my delayed response. Business has been kicking! 😉

I appreciate your kind words. I think it’s nice that I can share some personal life with my readers and clients. I believe it tends to make me more of a real person than just a virtual assistant.

Life can throw us all a zinger or two and how we handle it can make or break us.

Thank you again for commenting. Have a great day!

  3. Hey B,

    You’ve got this.
You inspire me with your talent and your huge heart.

I don’t just say this as a friend – but seriously, you have mad design skills. That and the fact that you’re self-taught is something to be proud of.

You know I want the world for you. Anything you have to offer will be an asset to those who choose to work with you.

You know I’m always here supporting you my friend 🙂

    1. Hi Dana,

I hope you’re right! 🙂 I’m so happy to hear that I inspire you with my designs and creativity. That means a lot to me. I have such a huge support system full of wonderful and caring friends like you. I couldn’t have asked for a better “family”.

Thank you, as always, for being a great friend and confidant. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

  4. Hi Brenda,
I have this scheduled in my queue at Triberr. Other people should know all your VA services that you provide. I assume you are at Upwork Talent Services, but every bit of promotion helps. You sound focused on what you need to do; that helps in trying times.

    1. Hi Janice,
You are so very kind! Thank you for passing this along. I haven’t found much at Upwork or a few other sources. It seems people would rather pay peanuts and get a quick fix than building a professional relationship with someone. That’s alright, though. I don’t let it scare me. I’m out there making myself known and applying for what is fitting and deserving of my skills.

Thanks for the boost, gf! I really appreciate it!

  5. Gotta keep believing & pushing forward. It’s certainly not easy, and life always takes its shot at you, but aiming for the good things is better than just giving up & watching reality TV all day. Good luck Bren! 🙂

    1. Hi Mitch! It’s so great to see you here!

That’s very true. We must continue to push forward. If we don’t, we’ll never accomplish our dreams. Life is full of ups and downs, as you know, but how we actually deal with these lies the answer. I believe. I may be down for a week but when I come back, I’m stronger and my plan is firmer.

I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to comment. I hope you enjoy your holiday weekend!

  6. Hi Bren,

Thanks for sharing your story with us, I know that took guts to open up your life with us. Sorry to hear about your divorce. Like you I have furkids, well only one. So I understand how important it is to work and keep them happy 🙂

We are our own worst critic and it’s easy for us to tell ourselves that we can’t do something. It sounds like you haven’t let that little voice hold you back.

To think that you’ve been offering all these services, even when you didn’t think you should. That amazes me and you’ve already accomplished a lot.

Good luck with your new services, I have no doubt that you’ll succeed with them. If I know of anyone who is looking for various blogging services, I’ll be sure to direct them to your blog.

    Have a great one 🙂

    1. Hi Susan,

We all have a story, right? I like to keep myself “human” and decided it was time to share a bit more about myself and my business.

Trust me when I say, I let fear hold me back a few years from doing web design. Finally, I decided to give it a go and it worked! We just don’t know until we put ourselves out there. I’m sure you know that already since you’re building your business as well, and thriving!

I appreciate your kind words and your support of my services! Keep up the good work on your end and you’ll go far….. me too! 😉

  7. Hi Bren, oh yes life can surely throw you some curve balls. They say it’s how we react to situations that can make a huge difference in our lives. Like Debbie said you have overcome many things in your life from an early age so this too you shall overcome and thrive!
Glad to see you are getting it out too by sharing about your experiences. That is part of the healing process.
I’ll be sharing this one for you as I know your services do rock Bren!

    1. Hey Lisa,

I know you’ve had your share of zingers too and continue to push forward with your dreams. Very admirable, indeed. Your love of Twitter and teaching others continues to amaze me. You’re definitely a great Influencer to all.

Like you, I like to think my passion can take me to far away places online and offline. By keeping my head in the game, helps keep me grounded and not get all crazy in the head. Distractions are good. But in no time, I’ll look back at this and think “Wow. I had to put it out there in order to build my business and grow my skills.”

Thanks for sharing, my friend and for always being there. I long for the day when we can just hang out and chat over “tea”. LOL

  8. Your story is inspiring, Bren. You’ve overcome so much already in your life, I know you’ll get through this like the champ you are! Congratulations on the success of your online business. You have the skills and the possibilities are endless. Wishing you all the best for the future!

    1. Hi Debbie,

Thank you. We’ve all been through a lot in life, just some more than others. I pull strength from all mine. It helps remind me that I am a survivor and I can basically do whatever I set my mind to. There were so many times I could have taken the wrong path and ended up in some very bad situations. But I chose the high road and continue to push forward.

My business is something I’m very passionate about growing. I’m also looking forward to helping more with their blogs and other online needs. I think it’s something I do well and enjoy it.

I appreciate your kind words and as always, your support and friendship. Thanks for being “you”. 🙂

  9. Hey Bren,

I’m so glad to see you’re getting that passion back for your business – kind of inspiring, too because I sometimes question my abilities, too.

I wish you all the best with this mama. If there is anyone out there who can do it, it’s you!

Hope you’re having a great day!

    1. Hey Cori,

Ya can’t keep me down for long. As I took a mini break to have a pity party, I was also contemplating world domination! haha Seriously, I was considering all ways that I could help others and help myself with extra income. I am so passionate about helping others but don’t have the best ideas on how to attract them. I’m still a work in progress. 🙂

I know you’ve had some setback’s too and am now back to kicking it Girl Boss style! I admire your determination. If anyone can do it, it’s US. We deserve it and we’ve earned it. Just need that little extra za za zu to get it out there.

Thanks for being there for me and all your support. Love ya!

      1. Thanks gf. Yeah setbacks suck but it’s what we do to get out of it that makes us the winners in the end.

And I’ll always be here! If you ever need a Louise to jump off the cliff, call me! 🙂

        Love ya!

      2. LOL I totally saw us in a pink caddy driving across the desert! However, this time Brad Pitt stayed in the car with us! 🙂

You know I love ya girl and appreciate all your support as well as our friendship. Pushing through the setbacks make us that much stronger, ya know?

I have a long year ahead of me but I’m determined to build my empire in the virtual and real world! And with fab friends like you, I know I can do it! Have a great weekend!

  10. Hi Bren,

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us. It is inspiring. Because I know first hand how tough it is to deal with some horribly terrible, really difficult situations in life. Heck we all do.

Death and Divorce are the 2 things in life which tend to bring up the most fear, pain, suffering, grief and sadness. To see you open up and talk about how you’re getting through this, you are clearing the pain and suffering. It is the best way to go. Crying. Sharing. Being angry. Whatever feelings are there, they need to arise for your healing. And evidence of some healing is the new income streams you are adding. All valuable services and I know you will land clients who dig your experience, your diligence and your dedication to your craft.

You have a book worthy life Bren. From what you are doing now, to beating skin cancer, to your upbringing, all while running rocking blogs, I am looking forward to the tell all.

Thanks for sharing with us 🙂

    1. Hey Ryan,

Most of us are survivors in some way or another, right? I think by putting it out there, others can relate and maybe find the strength to pursue what they want in life. We just can’t allow the tragedies in life deter us from making our dreams happen.

Look at you. Traveling all around the world with Kelli and making a life for both of you in Paradise. That’s admirable!

I just want everyone to know that despite whatever non-happiness is happening in their lives that there is still a way to survive and continue with your dreams. The dreams may be slightly altered and if different characters, but it still can happen.

I have my good and bad days and the bad are becoming fewer and fewer as I throw myself out there to new experiences and offering new services. We never know until we try, right?

Thanks for being such a great mentor in the blogging world and a good friend. I value your opinions and our friendship.

      Have a great week!
